What Is Breathwork Yoga?


Breathwork Yoga is a unique practice that integrates conscious breathing techniques with mindful movement to enhance physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This class combines pranayama (breath control), asanas (yoga postures), and meditative practices to support your nervous system, deepen self-awareness, and promote inner peace.


Breathwork has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve overall health. By focusing on the breath, we activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to calm the mind, regulate emotions, and ease physical tension.


Led by Namaste Nook’s Co-Founder, Cathy Hawk


This class is guided by Cathy Hawk, co-founder of Namaste Nook, who brings a wealth of experience in breath-centered yoga practices. With a background in Kundalini yoga and years of teaching experience, Cathy’s approach blends traditional yogic breathwork with modern mindfulness techniques to create a deeply restorative and empowering practice. Her expertise in energy work and meditation makes this class both accessible and transformative for students of all levels.

What to Expect in Our Breathwork Yoga Class


Each session begins with gentle breath awareness exercises, often starting with grounding breath practice, sound bowls, or chanting to set the tone for deep relaxation. Cathy frequently integrates Kundalini-inspired breath techniques alongside vibrational sound healing, using sound bowls and mantras to clear energetic blockages and create a sense of balance. These opening practices help students transition from the external world into a state of inner stillness, allowing for a more immersive and transformative experience.


From there, the class moves into a flow of yoga poses, designed to complement and enhance breath awareness.


The session concludes with a soothing meditation or savasana, allowing you to integrate the benefits of the practice. Cathy often incorporates gentle chanting, breath awareness, or a final sound bowl resonance to seal the experience, leaving you feeling refreshed, centered, and restored.
